Visitors typically reach Pemenang port from Bali or the Gili Islands, though some may arrive via Lombok airport. No matter where you come from, transportation to our homestay in Senaru is included in the package. Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome at our homestay, along with a delightful dinner. Enjoy the stunning views from our outdoor dining area and watch the playful monkeys nearby. Additionally, you can opt for a leisurely 20-minute stroll to Tiu Kelep waterfall, conveniently accessible from the trail right in front of our homestay.
Begin your day with an early breakfast before embarking on a 30-40 minute drive to the national park entrance. Our trekking adventure kicks off at the Sembalun entrance, positioned at an altitude of 1,156 meters above sea level.
The initial stretch involves a 2-hour ascent to Post 1, spanning 3.7 km with an additional climb of 44 meters. Take a brief snack break at Post 1 before continuing towards Post 2, a journey of approximately 1 hour covering 1.4 km and ascending 200 meters. Your porter will provide a well-deserved lunch at Post 2.
After lunch, the trek proceeds to Post 3, covering 1.7 km in about 1 hour, ascending 300 meters from Post 2. After a short break at Post 3, embark on a 3.5-hour trek to Pelawangan Sembalun, the designated camping area. This segment, spanning 2.2 km, poses the most challenging terrain on the first day due to an elevation gain of 839 meters.
In total, the trek on the first day from the entrance to the campsite encompasses 7-8 hours, covering a distance of 9 km with an elevation gain of 1,483 meters (from 1,156 to 2,639 masl)
On the second day, we wake up early at around 2:30 a.m. to catch the breathtaking sunrise at the summit of Mount Rinjani.
The ascent to the peak begins at approximately 3 a.m. after a light breakfast. Covering a distance of 3.8 km, this part of the journey takes about 3 hours and involves an elevation gain of 1,087 meters. We will reach the summit around 6 a.m., capturing stunning photos and enjoying the panoramic view for about 30 minutes before descending back to the campsite.
Upon returning to the campsite, a second breakfast awaits, skillfully prepared by the porter. The subsequent descent, covering 3.7 km and dropping 639 meters, takes roughly 3 hours and leads us to the serene lake. Here, the porter will prepare a satisfying lunch.
After lunch, the trek continues with an ascent of 641 meters over 2.9 km, taking approximately 3.5 hours, and culminating at the Senaru crater, our campsite for the second night. As the porters set up dinner and tents, you can unwind and enjoy the enchanting sunset.
After breakfast and a delightful sunrise, prepare for the descent towards Senaru village. Lunch will be arranged along the way, either between POS 2 or POS EXTRA.
Expect to reach the Senaru Rinjani Trekking Centre by approximately 1:00 PM. From there, you can get ready at our office for any additional transfers to Senggigi, Mataram, or Bangsal Harbor, especially if you plan to journey to the enchanting Gili Islands.
